At least we can be happy with the news that an end to the restrictions and the turmoil is in sight thanks to the advent of new vaccines.

You might be in need of re-lighting some festive cheer for all the family, so look no further than this year's round-up of decent family Christmas corkers right now on Netflix.

Check out the trailers, overviews and reviews.....

The Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn descend like 'ghosts of movie's past' to relish at being Mr and Mrs Santa, and the whole concept they arrive wrapped up inside is fun and festive on both occasions.

The first one may surprise more, maybe since it gets to introduce the idea of a 'realistic' Santa Claus crash-landing in our modern world, and a super-cool Santa to boot.

The plot may be a bit far-out the second time round, but veteran family director Chris Columbus still keeps the sleigh going and full of warmth and confectionery. Most of the cast return and help to ensure the second one is sure to score on Netflix. Updated special effects and the whole buzz of going on-board the sleigh is a thrill on both occasions.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)

A great concept arrives to boost the Christmas magic with this tale of a toy-maker played by Forest Whitaker and one girl's mission to rescue a small robot 'with the power to change everything.' Magical stuff.

Klaus (2019)

'After proving himself to be the worst postman at the academy, a postman is posted to a frozen town in the North where he discovers Santa Claus is hiding out.'

With top reviews from both audience and critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the animation style here is stunning and wonderful and there's full of slapstick comedy to bring you closer to the main characters as the story gets going. Essential winter magic.

Angela’s Christmas Wish (2020)

Angela returns for another Christmas adventure in this Irish animated movie. This time, 'her father is working far from home and not happy with the situation, Angela plots a plan to get her family back together for the holiday season.' A timeless, important theme to highlight so well.

Holidate (2020)

Every end-of-year holiday season needs a hearty rom-com and this one (just) takes the biscuit to see how two individuals can fall in together by the end.

This one puts a familiar twist on the classic formula. Our two conventionally-attractive characters agree 'to be each other’s plus one at holiday times to avoid the embarrassment of being seen single.'
