5+ of the Best Emerging NFT Platforms for Creatives & Collectors

30.04.2021, 14:17

Here’s a round-up of the best emerging platforms for buying and selling NFTs for both creatives and collectors. Perhaps you’re already selling a lot on a leading platform, but are now looking to expand. Maybe you’re looking to bag the next Beeple before the world catches up!

(What are NFTs? They are ‘proofs’ if you like, that you own or have certain rights over something, mostly at this stage, artwork. They are registered largely (and globally) on Ethereum, which is why this cryptocurrency (ETH) is used widely to mint, burn, buy or sell them. Metadata can be checked on Ethereum so there is no doubt about who owns what.

However, there is now the option to spend BNB crypto to register NFTs on the Binance Smart Chain, and soon, others. This means lower fees and wider adoption, and great places to experiment and start out.)

So... are you ready to start creating, buying or selling NFTs on global web3 networks? It’s much easier than you think. Fire up your web3 wallets ready, such as MetaMask, if you’ve not already got one. This allows you to transact as well as securely view/store your rare NFTs…

What’s the big trend in NFTs? Well, more networks such as Binance Smart Chain (BSC) are helping to accelerate their adoption, by making it even faster and cheaper to transact, and therefore create or collect them.

Let's take a look at our pick of five and more......

- Bakery Gallery

Adding to their existing de-fi platform, BakerySwap, have worked hard to focus on NFTs in order to expand the utility of their BAKE token on BSC.

So you will need BNB and BAKE to create, buy or sell NFTs.
Their newly-opened Bakery Gallery is now live. You can apply to be accepted on the platform, or just use the NFT Marketplace.
You can create your own profile page on NFT Marketplace, via web3 wallet.

- Juggernaut

This marketplace uses BNB (BSC) not only for transactions, but also for the sale price, meaning you don’t need to worry about any other token.

However, there happens to be a JGN token which will be the platform governance token, and soon you may also use it to buy/sell on this site. It might be worth investing in. It's still early days for this project.
You can create your own profile page, also to feature your collection.

- Opensea

You need to know about Opensea. It's like the eBay of NFTs. Anyone can trade or mint NFTs via Opensea, since it’s the primary platform.

You’ll find tons of different marketplaces in all shapes and sizes, even fine wine!

However, just watch out for the Ethereum transaction fees, which should see improve this year.

- Rarible

Similar to the platform above, in that you don’t need to be accepted by anyone, so anyone can create new NFTs. Here, it’s more art-orientated.

However, the competition is stiff too, so it helps if you already have your own following and can link your NFTs to them.

The RARI token is also one to collect, since it's the governance of this community-run site, and is given out to those collecting or selling, as an incentive.

- Makersplace, Superrare, KnownOrigin

These three are similar, since they are more like NFT 'galleries'.

For artists with some serious art, these are the sites to submit your top works, since there are serious collectors browsing. They have significant traffic, but it’s recommended to sell only your best NFTs here and for bigger prices.

You’ll have to be accepted onto one of them first, so make sure you’ve had enough practice in an eye-catching or effective art style via the platforms mentioned previously.

- [Binance NFT Marketplace]

Announced recently, but this will be a major platform, still to arrive in June 2021…. It will most likely host Ethereum and BSC -based NFT tokens.

Musician or Music Collector?

Check out Rocki and Audius too, which are blockchain-based - music - streaming services. They - now - allow those holding enough AUDIO token to display their wallet NFTs on the site, to anyone browsing or streaming their music (check out this profile as an example). Rocki (a BSC project) meanwhile, allows musicians to mint music tracks as NFTs and sell them too via profile pages. The latter is a great place to start if you're new, since it's cheaper to transact.

There are plenty more sites emerging, but you really need to think carefully about using Ethereum, so it might be best to practice on BSC platforms first, which is why we've highlighted some of these for this post. Search for instructions on how to set up your Metamask or web3 wallet for the Binance Smart Chain.
